Three things, and only if you hand them over.
Nothing else. There is no account to make, no profile, no comment section, and no form anywhere that asks for anything I haven't listed above.
No cookies. Not one. Nothing is stored in your browser, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.
No tracking. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no social media trackers, no fingerprinting, no third-party ad network of any kind.
Nothing is ever sold, rented, traded or handed over for marketing. Not your email, not anything else, not ever, not to anyone.
No third-party anything on the page. Even the typefaces are served from here rather than from Google, so reading a page on this site doesn't quietly tell an advertising company you were here.
Visitor numbers come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is measured without cookies and reports totals rather than people. It tells me a page was read. It cannot tell me who read it, and neither can I.
I run this on my own, so a few companies handle pieces of it. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
Buy links leave here and go to Amazon. Once you land there you're on Amazon's site under Amazon's rules, and I have no part in it and no visibility into it.
Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe, and every email I send has an unsubscribe link in it that works immediately. ARC signups stay until you ask to come off. Nothing has a clever retention scheme behind it. It sits there until you tell me otherwise.
Write to hello@ecdane.com and ask. You can ask me what I have, ask me to fix it, or ask me to delete it, and I will. You don't need a reason and you don't need to explain yourself.
Deleting the newsletter is a click on any email. Everything else, just ask.

The date at the top moves and the new version goes here. If something ever changes in a way that actually matters to you, I'll say so in the newsletter rather than quietly editing the page and hoping nobody notices.
