Questions

Things worth knowing before you start, in no particular order.

Do I have to read them in order?

Depends which series. Bad Little Falls goes in any order you like. Common Ground goes in order. Caldwell & Pike is best in order. Safe Harbor is its own door and can be skipped entirely. There's a whole page about this if you want the long version.

Are they in Kindle Unlimited?

All of them except three: True North, Latent Heat and Dispatches From Bad Little Falls. Those three are free with the newsletter, and a book that's given away can't be in Kindle Unlimited. If you'd rather not join anything, they're on Amazon and Kobo too, and free with Kobo Plus. No hard feelings.

Everything else, borrow or buy. Both work, and it makes no difference to me which you pick.

What is omegaverse?

A romance subgenre where people carry a second designation, alpha or beta or omega, stacked on top of everything else. It brings fated mates, scent, heat cycles and bonding along with it. If you came up in fandom you already know it and you can skip this answer.

Bad Little Falls, Common Ground and Safe Harbor are all omegaverse. Caldwell & Pike has none of it at all. If the whole idea sounds like nonsense to you, start there instead.

Do the series connect?

Common Ground, Safe Harbor, Tidal Heat and Fox Point share one world, Ocean State Shifters. Bad Little Falls is a different world entirely. Caldwell & Pike is a third.

You never need one to understand another. Nothing is homework.

Is there mpreg?

Two answers, because people mean two different things by the word.

If you mean is the pregnancy the story, that's Safe Harbor, and only Safe Harbor. It sits on its own door on purpose so nobody wanders in by accident.

If you mean is there a male pregnancy in this book at all, then yes, in about half of Bad Little Falls and in the background here and there in Common Ground. It just isn't what those books are about.

Both facts are listed on every book, so you can decide for yourself.

Do the books end on cliffhangers?

No, with one exception I'd rather name than have you find.

Every book is a complete love story that resolves. Riptide's epilogue sets up what comes next. The book itself finishes clean, so if you'd rather not be left wanting the next one, stop at the last chapter and you've had the whole story.

How often do you publish?

Fast. Bad Little Falls runs about every three weeks and the other series land on top of that. Take the ones you want and skip the rest. Nobody is counting.

Will there be audiobooks?

Eventually, yes. Not soon. Bad Little Falls book one is being cast right now, and casting a narrator for a ten-book series is not a thing to rush.

Are they explicit?

Yes. Heat levels and content are stated plainly in every book description, on purpose. Read the tags. The tags are honest.

Is there a page that says what does and doesn't happen?

For Bad Little Falls, yes. Bad Little Falls: what never happens answers the screening questions at series level, so reading it cannot spoil any single book. Caldwell & Pike and Tidal Heat have theirs too: Caldwell & Pike: questions and Tidal Heat: questions.

How do I get an early copy?

There's a page for that. No deadline, no review required, and nobody gets dropped for not posting.

If I do want to leave a review, where?

Amazon. Goodreads is lovely and I read those too, but Amazon is where it actually does anything. Two sentences is plenty.

Can I write fanfic?

Please do. Write it, draw it, make whatever you want out of these worlds.

One ask: post it to AO3 and lock it to registered users, so scrapers can't lift it onto paid platforms without your consent. I don't read fanworks, for legal and creative reasons, but I'm glad they exist.

How often do you email?

Only when there's a new book or a new free short. Never otherwise.

Something not answered here? hello@ecdane.com. I read everything, and I'll add it to this page if it turns out other people wondered too.
